Yemen Welcomes ICRC Mission Head

Yemen’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs received credentials from International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Mission Head Christine Cipolla today.

Foreign Affairs Advisor Ambassador Jamal Awad praised the ICRC’s historical support, thanking them for alleviating Yemeni suffering through humanitarian efforts. The ICRC’s role in prisoner release and humanitarian aid is highly valued by Yemen’s leadership.

Shibula assured coordination with Yemeni authorities, emphasizing the importance of avoiding politicization.

Yemen receives the ICRC’s fourth-largest budget, reflecting the organization’s significant interest in the country’s humanitarian situation. The Foreign Affairs Ministry pledged to facilitate the ICRC’s medical and humanitarian tasks.
