His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) received today, Tuesday, at al-Ma’shiq Palace, in the interim capital Aden, crediting documents of the Ambassadors of the following countries: Republic of Vietnam Ambassador Dang Xuan Dung, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden H.E. Petra Menanderand and Non-Resident Ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia H.E. FEISEL ALIYI ABRAHIM.
His Excellency also received credential papers of the Ambassador of the Republic of Ireland H.E. Gerry Cunningham, the Ambassador of the Republic of Austria H.E. Christophe Ceska and the Ambassador of the Republic of India Suhel Ajaz Khan.
He also received credential papers of the Non-Resident Ambassadors of the Republic of Angola H.E. Mr. Nelson Manuel Cosme.
In separate meetings, the newly appointed Ambassadors conveyed the greetings of their countries’ leaders to the Chairman and members of the PLC, wishing them wellbeing and happiness, security, stability and peace for the Yemeni people.
The Ambassadors also conveyed their leaders’ condolences on the victims of the terrorist operations in Abyan governorate and the torrential rains and floods in the governorates of Hodeida, Hajja, Taiz and Marib.
President al-Alimi welcomed the new Ambassadors, promising them every necessary facilitations they may need to help them doing their jobs dully, serve the mutual interests of Yemen and their own countries.
The President celebrated Yemen’s good relations with the countries of the newly appointed Ambassadors, deeply appreciating the supportive stances of their friendly governments in support of the Yemeni people, its political leadership and the Yemenis’ struggle for restoring the state’s institutions and eliminating the Iran-backed Houthi militias’ coup.
The Chairman of the PLC voiced his own and on behalf of his colleagues the PLC’s members, the Yemeni government and people deep gratitude to the united stance of the international community in support of the internationally recognized government, Yemen’s sovereignty, independence and its territorial integrity.
The President touched upon the ongoing efforts to re-build the Yemeni state’s institutions in the temporary capital Aden on the basis of partnership, building peace, ending the war and the world’s worst humanitarian crisis.
He noted that despite of the significant national transformation by the creation of the PLC and the regional and international momentum to revive the political process and the government’s significant proposals to support this track peace remains unattainable due to Houthi militias’ intransigence and insistence on putting the interests of the militias’ bakers above the Yemen peoples’ interests.
The Chairman of the PLC has reaffirmed that only the official state that ensures the rights and freedoms, rule of law on the basis of justice and equal citizenship can make Yemen more safe, stable and active player in its regional and international neighborhood.
The President warned that the leniency by the international community in deterring the looming threats to the international security and peace will encourage the Houthi militias to keep on the oppression systematic practices and attacks on the public freedoms, piracy on commercial ships and systematic blackmailing policy.
Al-Alimi stated that sustainable peace must be based on justice, non-discrimination, handling the past grievances, first of all is the south cause. He asserted that the only way to ensure the region stability can be achieved through supporting the internationally recognized government, propping its capacities to build the economy, provide basic services and enforce its control over all Yemeni lands.
The Chairman of the PLC reaffirmed the importance of relying on the internationally recognized government as a reliable partner to ensure freedom of the international marine navigation and fighting extremism, terrorism and piracy.
His Excellency expressed his hope that the international community observes the UN’s decision about weapon embargo to prevent weapons that proved destabilizing security and stability of Yemen and the entire region.
The Chairman of the PLC briefed the newly appointed Ambassadors on the economic reforms program, challenges need to be overcome in view of the disastrous repercussions of the Houthis terrorist attacks on the oil facilities that caused the loss of some 70 percent of the state’s resources.
The President praised the significant humanitarian and development interventions by the Coalition for supporting the legitimate government led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. ” Unless this substantial support, the government has been unable to deliver on its basic obligations including its inability to pay the government’s employees’ salaries.”, he said.
The President stated that he is looking forward to a greater economic support for the government, the humanitarian response plans and the efforts of the brothers and friends to make peace in Yemen based on the national, regional and international references.
