MUSCAT – SABA
The ninth round of consultations between the government and the terrorist Houthi militia on prisoners and detainees, which was held in the Omani capital Muscat and lasted seven days, concluded today, Saturday.
Majed Fadhael, the official spokesman for the government delegation and the Deputy Minister of Human Rights, said that the consultations achieved some breakthroughs in the file of the abductees and forcibly disappeared persons and that a complementary round would be held within two months, preceded by an exchange of lists of detainees and abducted persons and convergence around them under the auspices of the office of the UN envoy to Yemen.
Fadhael stressed that the terrorist Houthi militia worked to thwart any exchange in this round, as it does not attach any weight to the prisoners and their families.
He praised efforts of brothers in the Sultanate of Oman and hosting these talks and their efforts of facilitating them and praised efforts of the UN envoy’s office and the International Committee for the Red Cross on sponsoring these talks.
