The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council will deliver the Republic of Yemen’s speech before the leaders and representatives of member states in the United Nations General Assembly, in which he will address developments in the Yemeni situation, regional and international efforts to renew the truce, in Yemen and revive the political process that has been stalled since the Houthi militias’ coup against the national consensus in September 2014 with the support of the Iranian regime.
On the sidelines of the major international event, His Excellency the President will also hold high-level discussions on the humanitarian, service, and economic conditions, in light of the catastrophic repercussions of the Houthi terrorist attacks on oil installations, and the role relied upon by the international community in supporting the reforms led by the Presidential Leadership Council and the government in various fields.
The bilateral meetings will also discuss the pressures required to push the Houthi militias towards serious engagement with peace efforts, and the implementation of relevant international resolutions, especially Resolution 2216, as well as efforts to combat terrorism and organized crime, and ways to confront the security challenges facing international peace and security.
