Foreign Minister confers with senior official of the European Union over humanitarian situations in Yemen

BRUSSELS-SABA
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Ahmed BinMubarak held talsk today, Thursday, here with the Deputy Director General of the Department of Humanitarian Aids in the European Union Michel Culler.

The discussions covered topics relating to the humanitarian situations in Yemen and the underway preparations to hold the Humanitarian Response Plan Yemen 2023 later on this month.

BinMubarak made it clear that ending the war is the most important humanitarian step toward handling the grass-root of the Yemeni political crisis which produced the world’s worst humanitarian catastrophe; blaming Houthi militia for politicizing the humanitarian issues and creating more crises that further worsening the humanitarian catastrophe.

He noted that the immoral behavior of Houthi militia by targeting the Yemeni peoples’ economic resources, specifically oil facilities has seriously exacerbated the Yemenis’ humanitarian suffering.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs renewed the Yemeni government’s call for sustaining the State’s institutions particularly the Central Bank of Yemen in order to support the national currency and improve the peoples’ living conditions in Yemen.

The EU official stated the donors are committed to continue to provide humanitarian aid to Yemen in line with the principles of the humanitarian actions.
