Member of the Presidential Leadership Council Othman Mujalli received Monday here Dutch Ambassador to Yemen Peter Derk Hof discussing with him cooperation between the two countries and Netherland’s political support to Yemen and role in reaching peace, which is rejected by Houthi terrorist militia.
Mujalli confirmed that the Political Leadership Council has interacted responsibly with the proposals made by the UN Envoy for Yemen and that the council provided real concessions, allowing Yemenis travel from the areas under Houthi terrorist militia’s control with illegal passports and opening Hodeida Port and Sana’a Airport.
The government demanded opening roads before Yemeni citizens and called for all rights demanded by Yemeni people for the peace they want but the militia continued its aggression on Yemeni people using Iranian rockets and drones and shelled oil ports in Hadhramout and Shabwah, said Mujalli.
He pointed out that the international community neglected Houthi militia’s terrorist attacks on Yemeni people during the war, looted funds from the Central Bank of Yemen, seized all the state resources, imposed illegal taxes and issued unjust death verdicts against Yemeni people.
” We have taken practical steps of designating Houthis a terrorist group and we demand the international community and the UN and US envoys to do their role and take clear actions … as denounce statements are not enough towards the blackmailing steps by the militia,” he said.
Praising Dutch projects during the 45 years passed, Mujalli pointed out that most of those projects have been destroyed by Houthi destruction.
For his part, the Dutch diplomat praised the Presidential Leadership Council’s positive interaction in extending the truce, pointing out that his country had denounced Houthi attacks on oil establishments.
He confirmed that they support the position of the Presidential Leadership Council and the government in realizing peace in Yemen.
