His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, and King Abdullah II of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, discussed today, Monday, in the presence of Council members Tariq Saleh and Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi, developments in the Yemeni situation, and the distinguished bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries.
At the beginning of the meeting, which was held at Al Husseiniya Palace in the Jordanian capital, Amman, His Majesty King Abdullah II welcomed the President and his accompanying delegation.. wishing the Yemeni people and their leadership to overcome the ordeal of war and its humanitarian repercussions created by the terrorist Houthi militia.
The talks touched on developments in Yemeni affairs and regional security, in light of the increase in terrorist activities by the Iran-backed Houthi militia.
The two sides also reviewed the areas of cooperation between the two countries, and the available Jordanian support opportunities at various levels, including bilateral coordination to face common security challenges. In the meeting, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council expressed his great thanks to Jordan, king, government and people, for the warm reception and generous hospitality.
He also expressed deep appreciation for the honorable Jordanian positions within the framework of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy on the side of the Yemeni people and their aspirations to restore state institutions and end the coup of the terrorist Houthi militia.
The President praised the Jordanian facilities for Yemeni residents and expatriates, expressing his hope that the bilateral relations would witness further development and growth, including the resumption of the meetings of the Joint Higher Ministerial Committee between the two brotherly countries.
For his part, King Abdullah II renewed the Kingdom of Jordan’s keenness to support Yemen, its people, the unity and territorial integrity of its legitimate national institutions, and affirmed Jordan’s openness to all available forms of support to alleviate the human suffering of the Yemeni people and restore peace and stability in Yemen according to the relevant national, regional and international references.
