Yemen’s Ambassador to Moscow Ahmad al-Wahishi discussed Monday with the Russian Envoy for the Middle East and Africa, the Vice Minister of Russian Foreign Minister Michael Bogdanov latest developments in Yemen and government’s commitment to just and inclusive peace and regaining the state’s institutions.
He pointed out to the government’s position, which expressed regret over failure of the UN envoy’s efforts to extend the truce over Houthi militia’s stubbornness and continuous bloodshed to complicated the worst human crisis in the world.
Al-Wahishi expressed the government’s appreciation to Russian position and united position of the international community towards Yemen’s issue and significance of continuing efforts to deter these militia and its supporters and the militia should shoulder responsibility of losing big benefits brought by the truce to citizens in their held-areas.
He pointed out to Houthi terrorist militia’s threat to neighboring countries and international maritime lines, confirming commitment of the state on protecting the supreme interests of the country and deterring any aggressive escalation.
For his part, Bogdanov pointed out to importance of extending the truce for its humanitarian significance in improving people living conditions and protecting souls and for forming suitable environment to commence political dialogue to end the conflict in Yemen and realize security and stability.
