President of the Presidential Leadership Council Rashad al-Alimi received Monday Ambassador of Germany to Yemen Hubert Jäger and Charge D’Affairs Michael Westland discussing with them latest developments in Yemen and mutual relations between the two countries.
The meeting touched upon results of the presidential visit to Berlin and President al-Alimi renewed thanks to German leadership and people for generous reception.
He asked the ambassador to convey his best wishes to the people and government of Germany on the occasion of their national day.
President al-Alimi praised Federal Germany’s firm position towards Yemeni issues and its developmental and humanitarian interventions in Yemen as one of the greatest donors to the humanitarian response plan in the country, in addition to its great support to efforts of realizing peace and stability in the country.
He confirmed significance of German and international role in exerting pressure on Houthi militia and their supporter Iran to deal positively with UN and regional efforts to stop bloodshed in Yemen and ending the worst humanitarian suffering in the world.
He held Houthi militia’s the responsibility of humanitarian repercussions over the war escalation, which will complicate living conditions and halting efforts of renewing the truce.
