Foreign Minister Mohammed al-Hadrami restated that the government is deeply concerns about the worsening state of Safer oil tanker with the Houthi militia’s insistence on denying the UN’s team access the tanker.
His statement came as he held a telephone conversation Monday with his Swedish counterpart Ann Linde.
The conversations touched upon the latest developments in Yemen including humanitarian situations and Hodeidah agreement.
Al-Hadrami underscored the need for pressuring Houthi militia to stop blocking the efforts aiming to get Safer tanker problem resolved in order to avert a looming environmental disaster.
The Foreign Minister voiced deep thanks and gratitude to the Swedish government for its significant support and keenness to help Yemen, namely its significant contribution to the humanitarian and relief actions.
He blamed Houthi militia for further worsening the humanitarian situation through its irresponsible actions including interventions in the actions of the international organizations operating in relief, looting humanitarian aids and closing Sana’a airport for the UN’s flights.
He also touched upon Hodeidah agreement that Houthi militia has continued to refuse putting it in place, prevents the UN’s mission from doing its job. He asked for relocating the UN mission headquarter in a neutral place.
The Swedish Foreign Minister reiterated her country’s support for the Yemeni legitimate government and the UN envoy’s effort to make peace in Yemen.
She also stated that she is looking forward to see the Yemeni woman largely participating in the peace process.
She reiterated her country’s commitment to keep on contributing to the relief and humanitarian actions in Yemen.
