Yemen concerned over Iran’s failure to respond to IAEA’s demands

VIENNA – SABA
Yemen participated in the meetings of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency, held at the agency’s headquarters in Vienna, with a delegation headed by the Yemeni Ambassador to Austria and the permanent representative to the agency, Haitham Shujauddin.

Shujauddin expressed Yemen’s deep concern about what was stated in the report of the Director General of the Agency regarding Iran’s continued violation of the joint comprehensive plan of action and the UN Security Council resolution in this regard.

He called on Iran to stop these escalatory steps, reduce tension, fully cooperate with the agency’s requests, and desist from supporting the Houthi militia, which contributes to destabilizing the security and stability of Yemen and the region.

During the discussion of the report issued by the Director General of the Agency on issues related to the implementation of the safeguards agreement in Iran, the Ambassador of Yemen expressed concern about Iran’s failure to respond to the Agency’s requests, and its refusal to engage in substantive discussions with the Agency to clarify many questions.
