Government’s delegation participates in peace consultations

STOCKHOLM-SABA
The Government’s negotiation team has participated in the UN-steered peace consultations-via the UN Envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths- kicked off here on Thursday.

The team attended the opening session, in which Griffiths talked about significance of peace process for alleviating humanitarian situation, confirming that the peace consultations will be based on the three references; GCC Initiative, the Outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and the UN Resolution 2216.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden talked about significance of peace process for alleviating suffering of the Yemeni people.

The government’s delegation carries hopes of Yemeni people on achieving peace on the three references, the peace which ends the coup, all its repercussions and removes all its reasons, said Director of President Office Abdullah al-Alimi.

” The directives of President of the Republic Abd-Rabbo Mansour Hadi state that the government’s delegation should make concerns of Yemeni people and their aspirations on top of its priorities and {should} exert efforts for making the consultations successful,” added al-Alimi.

He farther said the government considers these consultations a real chance for peace, so we are so keen on seizing all opportunities for avoiding more destruction caused by Houthi rebel militia.
