Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani received Yemen’s Prime Minister Dr. Maeen Abdulmalik, who is currently visiting Doha.
The two officials discussed cooperation relations between the two countries, and mechanisms for their growth and development in various fields, in addition to discussing the latest developments in the situation on the Yemeni scene, and Qatari support for the efforts of a political solution in Yemen, to ensure the establishment of a sustainable peace that meets the aspirations of the Yemeni people in accordance with the three locally agreed upon and internationally backed terms of reference.
Many aspects of future cooperation were also discussed, especially in the economic and development aspects, and the role the brothers in the State of Qatar are expected to play to support the government’s efforts to achieve service and economic stability.
Dr. Moeen Abdulmalik briefed his Qatari counterpart on the latest developments in the situation on the national scene, and the reforms implemented by the government, to maintain economic stability and alleviate human suffering.
He touched on the developments in peace efforts and the government’s vision regarding the objective entitlements to achieve a comprehensive and sustainable peace that guarantees the restoration of state institutions and prevents renewed rounds of war and destruction.
The Prime Minister praised the steadfast positions of the State of Qatar in its support for the Presidential Leadership Council, the government and the Yemeni people and its keenness to achieve peace and end the Yemeni crisis in a way that leads to a just and sustainable peace.
He expressed his appreciation for the development and humanitarian assistance provided by the Qatari government and Qatari charitable organizations to the Yemeni people to contribute to alleviating the severity of the crisis.
In turn, the Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs welcomed Prime Minister Maeen Abdulmalik on his visit to Doha within the framework of the joint keenness to strengthen bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, and raise the level of cooperation and coordination in various fields.
He praised the efforts of the Yemeni government in dealing with the existing challenges.. reiterating his country’s permanent position, standing alongside the Yemeni people until their aspirations for security, stability and development are achieved, and he stressed that the path to peace and ending the war in Yemen requires concerted efforts and comprehensive consensus among the Yemenis.
