President Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, and Council member Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, met on Friday with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, Sameh Shukri, to discuss bilateral relations, developments in the local situation, and efforts to bring peace and stability to Yemen.
In the meeting, the Egyptian Foreign Minister conveyed to the chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council the greetings of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and his wishes of stability and peace for the Yemeni people.
In turn, the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council called on the Egyptian Minister to convey his greetings to the Egyptian leadership, and his wishes of progress and prosperity for the Egyptian people.
The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council praised the long-standing historical relations between the two countries, Egypt’s role in supporting the Council and the government, its steadfast position alongside the Yemeni people, its political leadership and its aspirations to restore state institutions and end the Iran-backed Houthi coup.
President Al-Alimi also praised the recent facilities offered to Yemeni residents and expatriates in Egypt, and the ongoing contacts to expand and strengthen relations between the two countries in various fields.
For his part, the Egyptian Foreign Minister affirmed Egypt’s firm position alongside Yemen and its people, and its support for all efforts aimed at bringing peace and stability and restoring the country’s development path.
He also stressed Egypt’s openness to all forms of support for the Presidential Leadership Council and the government, and their coordinated reforms with regional allies and international partners.
