Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Ahmed bin Mubarak, discussed today in Doha with the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the bilateral relations between the two countries and ways of developing them for the mutual benefit of the peoples of the two countries.
The two sides discussed many aspects of cooperation, including activating the convening of the joint ministerial committee between the two countries, which was last held in 2013 in Sana’a, activating political consultation mechanisms and granting more facilities to Yemenis residing in Qatar.
Minister bin Mubarak praised the firm positions of the State of Qatar in its support for the Presidential Leadership Council and the unity and stability of Yemen, expressing his appreciation for the development and humanitarian assistance provided by Qatari charitable organizations to the Yemeni people, which contribute to the development process and the alleviation of human suffering.
He reviewed the developments of the political and economic scene in Yemen, and the regional and international efforts aimed at ending the coup and achieving a just and comprehensive peace based on the references agreed upon nationally, regionally and internationally.
For his part, the Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed the importance of strengthening bilateral relations and raising the level of cooperation and coordination in various development fields, reiterating his country’s firm position in supporting the constitutional legitimacy, unity, security and stability of Yemen and supporting all efforts aimed at achieving comprehensive, just and sustainable peace.
