Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak conducted today, Wednesday, a telephone call to the Deputy Foreign Minister of Russian Federation, Special Envoy of Russian President to Middle East Mikhail Bogdanov.
The conversations focused on the Yemeni-Russian bilateral relationship whose the 94th anniversary will be marked next November.
The discussions also touched upon the developments in Yemen including the government’s efforts aiming to maintain the truce to save Yemen and the Yemeni peoples more fighting and destruction Houthi militias are seeking for.
Bin Mubarak briefed Bogdanov on the government’s support for efforts of the UN special envoy to achieve security and stability and how flexibly the government dealt with the Mr. Grundgerg’s proposal aimed to extend the truce.
He noted that Houthi militias has acted deliberately to block the underway efforts to revive the political process, pointing to the militias’ announced threatening against the oil companies which operate in Yemen and the region as well as maritime navigation in the Red Sea.
The Foreign Minister stressed that it is very important for the International Security Council to take firm political stance toward Houthi militias’ negative positions.
Mr. Bogdanov has confirmed Russia’s support for Yemen’s and the region’s security, stability, and the efforts to establish peace in Yemen.
