Security Council expresses concern over continuous Houthi siege on Taiz

ADEN-SABA
Members of the Security Council have expressed their concern over humanitarian effect of continuing blocking roads around Taiz city and called upon Houthi militia to be flexible in negotiations and open Taiz main roads swiftly.

The council welcomed extending the truce and renewed appreciations to measures taken by parties for keeping the truce, which led to real benefits to Yemeni people, including limiting losses of souls among civilians.

The members of the council praised the government’s flexibility for enabling ships enter Hodeida Port and allowing flights from and into Sana’a Airport.

The council expressed hope that the truce will be translated into permanent ceasefire and political settlement under the UN.
