FM confers with British Ambassador over developments in Yemen

ADEN-SABA

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Ahmed Bin Mubarak held talks today here in the interim capital Aden with the British Ambassador to the Republic of Yemen Richard Oppenheim.

They discussed the latest developments in Yemen, Houthi militia’s escalation in the region and peace prospects.

Bin Mubarak underscored the need for mounting political and military pressure upon Houthi militia as well as re-designating the militia as a terrorist organization. He pointed out to the Arab League’s request about this issue following the militia’s serious military escalation in Yemen and the region, the increasingly growing violations and war-crimes the militiamen have been committing in Yemen, threatening security of neighboring countries and maritime navigation.

The Foreign Minister condemned Houthi militia’s yesterday ballistic missiles attacks on the United Arab Emirates. He stated that these security destabilizing actions in the region come within the Iranian plan to target Arab national security.

The British Ambassador stated that his country is willing to support the Yemeni government economically to help stabilizing the situations in the government-held regions.
