Yemen FM says only way to resolve humanitarian crisis is a pressure on Houthis to end their military aggression

RIYADH-SABA
Yemen’s Foreign Minister has emphasized that the only way to resolve the humanitarian crisis in Yemen is only an international pressure on Houthi militia to end their military aggressions and targeted attacks on civilians and internal displacees in the country.

Ahmed Awadh Bin Mubarak told the Chargé d’Affaires for the U.S. Embassy to Yemen, Cathy Westley, in a meeting today the government on its part is committed to seeking a peaceful settlement as per the three agreed upon references to establish a lasting peace in the country.

He also stressed the imperative of completing the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement’s military provisions, saying the foot-dragging policy of the Southern Transitional Council has exacerbated the economic deteriorated conditions and the suffering of the Yemeni people.

The Riyadh Agreement provides for the return of the government to Aden and merge of all paramilitary forces under the command of the Interior and Defense ministries.
