Prime Minister Ma’een Abdulmalik received Tuesday US President’s Envoy to Yemen Tim Linder King over continuous international efforts for realizing peace in Yemen, amid Houthi militia’s stubbornness, and exchanged viewpoints on latest developments in different fields.
The meeting reviewed suggested initiatives for realizing peace in Yemen and government’s positive dealing with them and possible efforts of UN and the international community for putting pressure on Houthi militia and their supporters in Tehran to stop their war and attacks on civilians and displaced people.
Praising US positions for supporting political solutions in Yemen and their clear stance towards Houthi militia military escalation as party hindering peace efforts, Abdulmalik renewed government’s commitment on dealing positively with efforts for sustainable peace to all Yemeni people.
He pointed out to government’s steps for implementing Riyadh Agreement and keenness on implementing the rest of its articles in cooperation with all parties for regaining order, improving services and tackling economic situations in Aden and liberated areas.
For his part, the US envoy praised government’s firm position supporting political solutions, noting that Houthi militia must adopt similar approach for stopping the war and realizing peace.
He expressed concern regarding Houthi militia’s continuous attacks and escalation on Marib, a matter has deepened humanitarian situations.
