President receives UN resident coordinator in Yemen

President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi received Monday UN-Resident Coordinator in Yemen David Gressly discussing with him services and humanitarian assistances provided to Yemen in these difficult situations over Houthi militia’s triggered war.

President welcomed humanitarian efforts provided by UN organizations to Yemen, confirming government’s keenness on facilitating all UN organizations’ activities to be able to reach all needy people in accordance with humanitarian needs in all provinces.

He pointed out to Houthi militia’s policies aiming at making Yemeni people in hunger through looting food assistances and directing them for their war’s interests, continuing war and shelling citizens and displaced people in Taiz, Marib and Hodeida.

He reviewed significant measures taken by the government in humanitarian and relief fields, paying salaries, sending financial claims to students abroad and supporting health, education and services for alleviating suffering of Yemeni people, calling upon international organizations to relocate in the transitional capital of Aden where the government exists.
President Hadi pointed out to Houthi militia’s mobilization and forcible child recruitment as soldiers.

He renewed government’s keenness on realizing inclusive and just peace on the bases of the three internationally agreed upon references; the GCC Initiative, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and UN Resolution 2216, confirming that Yemeni people rejects to be ruled by militia using force for imposing Iranian experiment on Yemeni people.

For his part, the UN coordinator confirmed continuation support to Yemen and provision of humanitarian assistances to all Yemeni people, praising president and government’s support to all international organizations working in Yemen.
