FM discusses with French Ambassador latest developments in Yemen

Minister of Foreign Affairs and expatriates Ahmad Awadh Binmubarak discussed Monday with French Ambassador to Yemen Jean-Marie Safa terrorist Houthi militia’s military escalation in Marib.

Binmubarak pointed out to the militia’s negligence of huge losses in their front and pushing many people to their warfronts in Marib, continuation of recruiting children as soldiers and shelling populated areas with ballistic rockets, pointing out that Marib hosts hundreds thousands of displaced people from Houthi militia’s held areas.

He pointed out to situation in Hodeida where Houthi militia targeted populated areas and destroyed al-Qasemi Mosque at al-Manzar Neighborhood, clarifying that this shelling comes within serial of many attacks committed by the militia since signing Stockholm Agreement.

He also noted that the UN mission for supporting Hodeida’s Agreement suffer from Isolation in Houthi held areas and is unable to perform its work and at the same time the Redeployment Coordination Committee has not been able to hold its meeting since killing its officer Colonel Mohammad Assubaihi from the government’s party by Houthi militia.

For his part, the French diplomat confirmed his country’s rejection to Houthi militia’s escalation and its support to Yemen’s security and stability, pointing out to continuous French efforts for realizing political settlement in Yemen.
