FM: Forming new government, a breakthrough in peace process

Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad al-Hadhrami has confirmed that the formation of the new government will be a breakthrough in peace process in Yemen and unifying efforts for deterring Houthi agenda in Yemen.

In his meeting with UK Ambassador to Yemen Michael Aron on Monday, the two parties discussed latest developments in Yemen and mechanism of speeding up Riyadh Agreement.

He stressed significance of serious commitment to the mechanism of speeding up the agreement, pointing out that the government honored its commitments included in the mechanism and that the Southern Transitional Council must honor its commitments and must speed up bringing its forces out of Aden according to their commitments.

He confirmed keenness of the government on implementing peace dealing positively with UN envoy’s initiatives in accordance with the agreed upon references.

Condemning Houthi militia’s hindrance access of UN’s team to Safir Oil Tanker for doing maintenance work to it, al-Hadhrami restressed significance of Socotra Archipelago to Yemeni people, regaining order in the island and restoring all state institutions in it.

For his part, the UK diplomat renewed his country’s support to the government of Yemen and to efforts of the UN envoy regarding the joint declaration project, expressing his country’s hope for reaching a peaceful solution for realizing security and stability in the country.
