The Republic of Yemen has demanded the international community to shoulder its responsibility and put an end to Houthi rebel militia’s stubbornness to end suffering of the Yemeni people and reaching to just and sustainable peace based on the three references.
The three references are agreed upon internationally and are; the GCC Initiative, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and Security Resolution 2216.
In a meeting for foreign affairs ministers of the Group 7 held here on Wednesday, Yemen’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Abdullah al-Sa’di confirmed significance of international action for pressuring Houthi militia and their sponsors in Tehran to implement relevant Security Council’s resolutions in Yemen, to stop bloodshed and destruction and to allow to humanitarian assistances to arrive to the needy.
He reviewed the political process and peaceful power transfer in accordance with the Gulf Cooperation Council’s initiative, which were hindered by Iran-backed Houthi militia on September, 21, 2014 and the militia’s seizure of the state institutions in the capital Sana’a followed by crimes against humanity, violating human rights and shelling cities and bombing worship places.
He reminds of government’s efforts for realizing peace faced by Houthi militia continuous military escalation and committing more massacres in a number of provinces.
He pointed out to eruption of coronavirus pandemic, which complicated humanitarian crisis in Yemen and added another burden to the already weak health sector, calling international community for more support for providing medical assistances.
